Hello,
I'm very busy raising an eight year old grandson who has cerebral palsy and is blind in one eye.
I'm editing several novels and have completed two illustrated poetry books. Currently I'm looking for interested publishers.
Would love to keep in touch with everyone who enjoys my poetry but there is never enough time. If you'd like updates on what's going on, you'll find it here.
Love,
Sandy

Hi,
Doogie got his glasses yesterday. His current vision in his right eye is 20/200 which means he's still legally blind. He, however, refuses to wear dark glasses (though his eyes do not quite match) and doesn't want to use a white-tipped cane. He's back to being a typical nine year old :)!
He turned nine on April 22nd. Sandie Angel wrote and sent him a CD/hard copy of a story inspired by him. Linda Hill wrote a poem about him. He also received a check from his Uncle Arturo and Aunt Libby plus and one from a dear friend, Wilma. Thanks everyone!
Doogie is thinking about 'blind' camp (he's never been aware from us and the camp is for five days in Salem, Oregon). We've been playing (under a sheet) to get him used to being in a tent. He's a riot--we use blocks for a 'fire' and I keep either knocking it over or burning my butt :)! We get a lot of laffs though.
My 'western' poems such as: Country Dreaming, Gypsies of the Saddle, etc. will soon be deleted from the Author's Den site as they will appear in my second book, "A Touch of the West". If you haven't read them, you'll have a chance to do so. I won't delete them until next Tuesday.
I've begun working on my third book, "Wings". After it's finished, the inspirational poems on Author's Den will also be deleted (hopefully within the next four weeks).
This poem Doogie and I wrote together, "Jesus Is There Room" will be in "Wings":
Jesus Is There Room
Jesus, I heard you have a big house . . .
do You still have room for me?
Some family went up there before me . . .
they are folks I'd like to see.
I'd love to have wings and a halo;
to live for eternity.
Jesus, I heard you have a big heart
that Your love lives inside me.
Thank You for the spirit You gave me . . .
without You I wouldn't be.
Help me to do everything I should
to deserve eternity.
Do keep in touch and know that we love ALL of you!
Love,
Sandy
