I'm very busy raising an eight year old grandson who has cerebral palsy and is blind in one eye.
I'm editing several novels and have completed two illustrated poetry books. Currently I'm looking for interested publishers.
Would love to keep in touch with everyone who enjoys my poetry but there is never enough time. If you'd like updates on what's going on, you'll find it here.

Subject: Sandy's Chatterbox
Everyone who knows me is aware that, at times, it's still difficult to discuss my only son's murder though it happened a decade ago. Doug was most like me; Sherry always took after her father, Dan.
A strange thing happened 10-13-05.
We received a message from a lady named Cynthia (Al didn't catch her last name but I remember her) who works for Victims/Witnesses in Greene County, Ohio. Although we didn't know it, a physic assisted the police department whenever my son, Doug, disappeared Dec. 3, 1992. His mutilated body was found Feb. 4, 1993 in James' backyard under the firewood stack.
There's a TV program on DISCOVERY network that has a program called "Psychic Witness." They've chosen to highlight the psychics work in Doug's disappearance. They do NOT need permission to do that! They do, however, as a courtesy to Doug's family, wish to have the names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, etc. of any/all of Doug's family.
Our address/phone number was the only family member Cynthia has on file so I've sent emails to my siblings. The courtesy of our opinion isn't to be taken lightly. Doug's episode will air in Feb. or March 2006 ... with or without our imput. The producers plan on sending a team to Oregon to interview me and another to Kentucky to speak with my-ex, Dan, with whom Doug was living at the time.
I'm not sure what to think of all this yet. James, the boy in prison, isn't involved and no money will exchange hands; it's voluntary on our part but the story WILL be told.
Cynthia, from Greene County, Ohio's Victim/Witness division of the D.A.'s dept. called again this morning. We asked her about a statement my daughter, Sherry, made that "James's parole hearing is next year." She checked and James' first parole hearing IS scheduled for Sept. 2006!
Although his sentence was "20 to LIFE," with the 20 being up in 2013, the parole board does take 'behavior" into consideration.
Protests/comments may be made by calling 1-888-842-8464, Office of Victim Services, Re: James Kiehl II, DOB 3-26-69, Inmate # A276847 OR the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation/Correction www.DRC.State.OH.US. I want James to at least do the FULL 20 years! WE can help keep him in prison by protesting an early release.
I did NOT press the D.A. to seek the death penalty for James for several reasons: it wouldn't bring Doug back, it was an 'easy out'--James wouldn't suffer as my son had, James was HIS parents ONLY child and I couldn't have James' blood on my hands. Judgement is not mine but God's. My decision did cause some division within my family---not everyone agreed with me. I talked Dan into agreeing to the plea bargaining; it was (in my view) no one else's business but ours. Doug was OUR son!
Lissa Douglas, a producer from "Psyhic Witness," will be calling to speak with with me (prior to an actual taped interview) soon. It will have to be 'set-up' as I use a TDY since I'm deaf---although I talk (very well but too much :), I read what the other person says on my TDY screen.
This is all the new information I have but I wanted to share it with you.
Hope all is well :)!
Al's brother, Arturo, is visiting us now---has been here all week :)!
Keep in touch.
