Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakah and Kawanza !
No matter how or what you celebrate, enjoy the time with your family and friends. This is such a special time for all of us. I know that I have so many memories of Christmas past and the different celebrations and traditions that have changed over the years.
This year will be quieter than some as we’ll only have our son and his family actually with us for Christmas Eve and day. We’ll no doubt make a visit over to daughter Lisa’s to watch her three grand-kids open gifts.
We already had a wonderful time with eldest daughter Dana and her hubby, Mike. Their gift to us was a trip in their wonderful motor home. We traveled to Sacramento where we toured the Automotive Museum, the Railroad Museum, shopped, ate good food, visited, played games and watched videos in the motor home.
Daughter Lori has promised to visit sometime during or right after the holidays.
As for my promotion adventures, I’ve been interviewed on the radio, visited a high school and talked about publishing to a writing group and did a joint book signing. That was with good friends and fellow Sisters in Crime. We had a great time! Two of my sales were a kick. Two young fellows came in to the bookstore, one about 11 and the other perhaps 14. I said, “Have you ever met a real live author before?” Their eyes widened and they shook their heads. I said, “Well we’re all real authors and these are the books we wrote.” Both boys started studying my books and one bought “Wing Beat” and the other “Deadly Trail.” I hope they like them.
Receiving Christmas cards is always great–hearing from old friends also brings back memories. On one of the e-mail lists I’m on, a few of us exchanged cards and that was fun! I also got a card from the two young women I met while I was in Alaska. I’m always tickled to hear from them.
Finally we decorated the house for the holidays–didn’t think we’d ever have time to do it. It’ll be interesting to see what our new kitten, “Moxie” will make of all the new play toys. The tree is waiting for granddaughter Jessica to adorn.
Oh, take a look at my website, I have a special sale through the holidays.
My wish for you is that 2005 will bring you all that you’ve hoped for.
