Celebrate C. A. Webb*'s “REFLECTIONS”
Where: Best Western Executive Inn, Downtown Jackson
When: Saturday, September 11, 2004
From 11-1p.m., come enjoy space jump action, concession-style service with hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos and cheese, soft drinks and juice, dill pickles, ice cream cups, and freshly baked cookies and more!
Artwork will be on display by C. A. Webb and others. Webb, poet John Kennedy Brown (author of the poetry collection SPRINGBREEZE) and other local authors will also be on hand with their publications.
FREE entertainment and poetry will be provided at 1p.m. by singer/songwriter Martha Simpson, C. A. Webb, contestants of the Searching for Stars Amateur Talent Search and others!
David Stafford of Majic 100. 9 FM will provide a live remote of the show from 11-1p.m.
At 7:30p.m. the same evening, Webb will host the REFLECTIONS poetry reading which will feature poetry from his TO LOVE YOU MORE poetry chapbook that was released after the events of September 11, 2001. Joining him for the evening program will again be singer/songwriter Martha Simpson and others.
Admission to the day’s events is FREE, however, all artists will have work available for purchasing. (Framed prints of the Manhattan scene, REFLECTIONS will be available for $5.00, with one dollar being donated to Southern AIDS Commission and VSA Arts of MS.) For more information, contact Cyrus A. * C. A. Webb (Cyrus A. Webb) has been a supporter of the arts since 1996. He is the host of Mississippi’s radio and television talk show about the arts, “Conversations with C. A. Webb” and is currently on the board of directors of VSA Arts of MS and the Rankin County Arts Alliance. Webb is also a member of the Jackson-Hinds Arts Alliance and the Rankin County Chamber of Commerce.
