Newsletter Dated: 4/1/2006 8:53:52 AMSubject: BREAKING NEWS: Bikari Kitwana interview and more
I know I have sent out my weekend newsletter for this week, but I wanted you all to know some developments that just came about on last night.
1) I will be doing a special telephone interview with hiphop historian/author Bikari Kitwana today at 1p.m. At this point we believe the interview will be available first on the www.cawebbconversations.com site by Monday, April 3rd. After that, I am going to try to squeeze it into the May issue of the zine. You can find out more about him at www.bikarikitwana.com.
2) For those living in Jackson, MS don't forget that the End Poet, Ms. Amanda, will be hosting a poetry evening every First Saturday at City Hall on Pascagoula St. This is from 6-9p.m. For more information, contact her via email at missbighead06@yahoo.com. I will be there tonight to show support. I hope to see you there.
3) The CONVERSATIONS site has changed again this weekend. We are now showcasing the zine covers for the next few months to let you know what to expect. If you visit www.cawebbconversations.com now you will see the April cover with Brandon Massey (www.brandonmassey.com), the May cover which features Diane Dorce' (www.dianedorce.com), and the double issue June cover which on one side features Gospel Sensation Sean Simmonds (www.seansimmonds.com) and multi-talented Elissa Gabrielle (www.elissagabrielle.com) If you haven't joined the yahoo group, go ahead and do so, it's FREE. Then pass the word around. I have excerpts of all interviews in the April issue now availabe under the FILES section.
4) The Juewett Bostick project. This is by far the highlight of my weekend. I have been working with Mr. Bostick for a while now and the fruits of our partnership can now be purchased.
We have put together a Bostick/Shadow Play collaboration: you can get his ever-popular jazz cd IT'S NOT SO EASY, a black t-shirt promoting the cd, and my ACTS OF NATURE print all for the price of $30.00--- it's a savings of $15.00! Visit www.juewettbostick.com to listen to the cd and read more about this genius.
Well, that's it.
Don't forget that this is National Poetry Month, so all of my poetry chapbooks will be on sale this month for only $5.00! So stock up!
