1. Tales From The Trips

The biggest trip in December was my jaunt down the hill with the Moose Lodge Senior Regent on a holiday shopping spree. Since I moved to this quaint mountain town, one of my favorite community service efforts has been to shop for (and wrap) presents for local children and nursing home elders during the holiday season.

This year the trip was an all day event that left me exhausted but happy. Our journey landed us smack in the middle of the holiday shopping insanity down in the city.

However, in our quest for unique item requests we discovered that many of the other shoppers were doing the same thing! We met people shopping for families in other countries, gathering goodies for disadvantaged locals, for military service personnel and families,
and for larger groups needing assistance. AND we did not meet any grumps!

One lady even found an item fitting my request for earrings (for a 105 year-old) and she took it upon herself to look all over the store until she found me so we could deliver the treasure to the senior citizen.

As we enter into the New Year, I want to wish you a positive 2005 and hope that you will take time in 2005 to engage in random acts of kindness. Be sure to “pay it forward” so we can all make this world a better place.

FOUR publishers are now interested in my newest (in progress) work. My agent and her office are busy, but we expect to have some interesting news and concrete offers soon!

My humane holiday hints hit the newswires and hopefully made a difference for many pets. I am still amazed at the positive word of mouth that keeps “What Animals Can Teach Us about Spirituality” in the news and in the stores.

YOUR favorable mentions landed a radio interview that airs in both the Los Angeles and San Diego markets. Favorable reviews also appeared in one of the biggest pet industry journals and in “Best Friends” magazine. Thanks!
