It is hard to believe that it is August! I’ve been sticking close to home but managed to take a trip down to Los Angeles to film a segment for a PBS Nature special. Can’t tell you much more yet at this time but it will air in November and I’ll keep you posted.

I also got talked into judging the Annual Fawnskin Doo
Dah Parade. The silly event also claims to be one of the shortest parades in existence. This event will be followed by the Blessing of the Animals on the 31st.

My interviews on the book are mostly done. I’ve obtained some photos and materials and hope to start making some serious progress now. I’ve been busy with other deadlines and am a bit nervous about the progress but it should go well.

Last month’s question asked about your favorite topics
but I didn’t get any responses! Are you all traveling?

FYI: I started a breaking news blog about animals. The online journal provides media and journalists with comments on hot animal and pet topics. It is syndicated online and allows people to use aggregators (feeds)
to have the information delivered to their computers or Ipods. The broadcast doesn’t get caught up in spam filters like many emails do.

The cool thing is that I also figured out how to do audio broadcasts, too. Not sure if it will pan out but it was fun to learn and I believe it will be worth the effort.

3. Critter Chronicles: Animal Only Search Engines

I accepted the title of “Critter Columnist” for a eight new “animal only” search engines due out this month. So, I’ve been writing a bunch of articles on a variety of animal topics. If you have any you’d like to see,

4. Gossip Rag: The Fawnskin Flyer
===============================================
My little town (population of less than 380) is an amusing center of small talk and gossip. I’ve been threatening to start a gossip rag for several months—and finally did!

I have to say that I have been laughing over it daily. It isn’t malicious but it is amusing. Launched July 1st the Fawnskin Flyer has readers from all over the United States and Canada! Locally, you can buy one at the Fawnskin Market for twenty-five cents or view it online.

All four of the first issues were sponsored and I hope that trend continues. Anyway, I hope you will go in and take a look. The online version can be seen at http://www.fawnskinflyer.com.
