Author’s Note

I feel like I’ve joined the rodeo this summer and I don’t plan to settle down until I’ve won, or got kicked in the head.

The book I’ve carried around in my imagination for five years will be out July 29, 2003. THE WIDOWS OF WICHITA COUNTY. I’m working with an editor from MIRA for this one and it is a little like dating someone new. I’m very excited about this first novel that takes place in today’s time in a small oil town in Texas.

For those who read my historicals, don’t worry; the next one will be out in November. This is Sarah’s story, called WHEN A TEXAN GAMBLES. This story was great fun to write.

I would love to hear from you as you read both books. Keep your fingers crossed for the RITA on July 19, 2003. THE TEXAN’S WAGER is in the finals for Best Historical of 2002.
