Welcome to Fall, my favorite time of year.
I'm so excited, the second book about the three women kicked off the wagon train will be out in a couple of weeks!
I'm following up THE TEXAN'S WAGER with WHEN A TEXAN GAMBLES. I think you are going to love Sarah's story. The hero touches my heart in this story because he tries so hard to figure Sarah out, but he always guesses wrong. I've grown close to these women and am almost finished with Lacy's story for next year.
I've been traveling with THE WIDOWS OF WICHITA COUNTY and met some wonderful people. The women of the Desk and Derrick Clubs are great. I've talked with six so far, starting with Ardmore, Oklahoma and ending last week in Roswell, New Mexico.
I'd like to thank all my historical romance readers who crossed with me to modern day for THE WIDOWS OF WICHITA COUNTY. I've had hundreds of letters and not one said, 'don't ever get out of historical again.' I plan to do another contemporary next year. It will be called FINDING MARY BLAINE, but it's still baking right now. More about it in the Spring.
I've had several letters from folks looking for my back stock. I'm listing bookstores on my website that might carry them. April should have them up soon. I was in Crazy Lady's Bookstore in Norman, Oklahoma in September and they kept me signing back copies for thirty minutes, so I know they have lots. Two great ladies who love romance. Plus they think, like me, that sanity is overrated. ;) Contact them at email@example.com
Thanks everyone for reading. As always, I'll see you between the covers.
WHEN A TEXAN GAMBLES
Jove, November 2003
It all started when she got thrown off the wagon train. Now, a crook is dead and Sarah Andrews has been raffled off in a "Wife Lottery." That seems bad enough-- until she discovers her new groom with a knife in his back.
He just barely survives--and now if Sarah doesn't get him out of town fast, someone is going to make sure Sam Gatlin doesn't live long enough to enjoy the honeymoon. No matter what he may have done, or how many enemies he has, Sarah feels she owes him. After all, he saved her from a life in prison. But never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that this dangerously attractive Texan would steal her heart and make her want to take the biggest gamble of all....
"The second "Wife Lottery" tale (see THE TEXAN'S WAGER) is a superb western romance that moves at a fast pace, is filled with plenty of action and contains a strong cast. The key, besides the fully developed lead protagonists, are the townsfolk, the kids, and those foes wanting to kill the hero. Each one enhances the understanding of the inner values of a pair who on the surface seem inappropriate together yet share similar ethics. Readers will look forward to the final novel in what is so far a delightful series focusing on players with principles."
