Happy Hello!
Spring is a beautiful time of year and finds me enjoying our beautiful flower garden. Spring and summer are my favorite seasons because life is freed up after the long winter. People shed their coats, scarves boots, and adorn themselves with T-shirts and sandals and tip their faces to the sky to soak up the sun or feel the breeze. Even though I am very busy these days indexing, my primary purpose is to delight in the season.
My forthcoming book, _Women Political Leaders in Africa_, is slated for publication Fall/Winter 2007. Please go to this link to read McFarland’s description and promotional material: http://www.mcfarlandpub.com/book-2.php?id=978-0-7864-3299-8.
It is always interesting to follow the journey of my published books. This week a very interesting review essay on several works on female suicide bombers came to my attention. _Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society_ posted the essay written by Claudia Brunner, Center for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies, Humboldt University, Berlin. She includes in her review my book, _Female Suicide Bombers_. The article is titled, “Occidentalism Meets the Female Suicide Bomber: A Critical Reflection on Recent Terrorism Debates; A Review Essay.” The approach of the article is epistemological [a branch of philosophy that investigates the origin, nature, methods, and limits of human knowledge] while my book’s approach is sociological, so I think you will find the review stimulating. You may read this review at: http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/SIGNS/journal/issues/v32n4/60322/60322.html.
I am happy to report that my biography is under consideration for inclusion in: the _25th Silver Anniversary Edition of Who's Who in the World_; and the 2008 (62nd) Edition of _Who’s Who in America_.
Cheers! R
