life is a crawl

this was fun to write..

Life is a crawl

young babies on our hands
and knees we start our crawl

I see a far place
I would like to be

struggling with how I work
and what I can do

I pull my self up
with my little hands
one step at a time

I start to cry
dont know why
from my fall and fear

upset on the ground I sit
confused and trying to understand

I look back where I was
now  I,am closer than I was before

so I pull my self up
with my little hands
one step at a time

I,am moving kinda slow
one step at a time
I,am getting there though

hand over hand
step by little step
this walking thing
I,am starting to understand

a little farther
look at me go
to where I want to be

step after step
no hands to hold me
I,am so happy
now I can see

seeing more of life
than before

on my baby belly
laying down on the floor

step after step
hand over hand
I had to try

now I,am holding hands
and walking
with the cutie
that has caught my eye..

I really like the perspective utilized in this poem, complete with its subtle humor and the gentle wisdom it communicates: struggling and crying but continuing to move forward for a glimpse of joy at the end :-)

Much gratitude,

Aberjhani
