Nothing Short of too Sweet
Nothing Short of too Sweet,
I think of you as I sit at your feet.
A gentle smile on your lips so warm,
with me your heart will never be torn.
I stare at your beauty as you sleep,
your breathing so normal yet so steep.
Dreams of sweetness on your mind,
dreams of delight I hope you will find.
When three years ago you accepted me,
you were all and more I knew you would be.
You are a woman I truly treasure,
not once had you made me feel preasure.
Nothing Short of too Sweet,
I continue to wait at your feet.
Remembering last winter when I was ill,
you did this against my will.
You went out into the snow and sleet,
and took care of all my needs my sweet.
You had taken very good care of me,
and I was the only one you would see.
You would not see your friends,
you cheered me up with old fashion trends.
You looked silly in some,
but you made me feel happy and not numb.
Your caring and love is what you show,
nowhere without you would I go.
Nothing Short of too Sweet,
you slowly awaken and stir your feet.
On the wall the clock strikes nine,
your eyes open and stare into mine.
We both lean forward and tenderly kiss,
knowing that our kinship will be full of bliss.
You are Nothing Short of too Sweet,
I whisper as we hugged and our hearts strongly beat.
When I had written this Poem I was thinking about the many couples who had actually found their true love, that one person who could make them as happy as they could be, knowing that their joy will continue for years and years to come.
