To The Father I Need To Know

To The Father I Need To Know,
in the Heavens high above.

Hear my cries of woe,
I so need to feel your love.

My confession will be clear,
I have sinned in many a way.

Yet the worst sin I fear,
is at times my faith goes astray.

I have tried to talk to you,
yet I heard no reply or sound.

Only I listened with my ears and knew,
that I would only hear my heart pound.

I searched with my eyes,
and not with my heart and soul.

Longed for a sign that you heard my cries,
for wanting to embrace you was my goal.

I lay all of my sins at your feet,
and I ask you to forgive me.

Help me stay good and away from deceit,
for it is your heavenly light I wish to see.

I need you in my life God,
and I need to learn how to hear you.

On my knees I bow my head in a nod,
as I write these words so true .

To The Father I Need To Know,
help me cast my inner evil out.

Hold me close to your robe of white snow,
and help me see what my life is all about.

I welcome you in to my heart,
and this time I welcome you for good.

I will no longer doubt your creative art,
of giving and taking life as you always could.

In Heaven one day I hope to be,
happily among your holy Angels will I fly.

Yet for now I will have to wait and see,
where I will end up when I die.

Take my life as you will Father,
I ask this through Jesus your son.

Helping those in need will be no bother,
and all you ask of me will be done.

To The Father I Need To Know,
I will trust in you.

With your light my heart will glow,
as with honesty I will be true .
