We believers agree with Paul who says: "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all surpassing power is from God and not from us."
2Corinthians 4:7.

THIS JAR OF CLAY

This fragile jar of clay,

Shaped by the Master's hands,

And filled with the Holy Spirit

Is now equipped to do the Master's will.

Having died to self and forsaken all else,

Now follows the Master's plan.

This delicate jar of clay,

Bids farewell to arrogant selfish deeds

Looks now to Him to meet every need,

To satisfy the longings of a heart

Now soft, open, pure.

This exquisite jar of clay,

Washed, clean! No dirt, grit or grime,

All purged by the Master's loving touch.

There remains a most humble servant,

Malleable, moldable, ready and able now,

To obey the Master's will.

Wonderful poetic truth. God created us in His image and it's is so important to be reminded of that and to remain humble, grateful and ready to do His will. Thank you Barbara! Amen

This poem "This Jar Of Clay! is passionately written; expressing thanks for a loving and compassionate Master. This poem breathes love, care, understanding, and compassion for mortals. It gives assurance to all that there are stages one goes through with a relationship with the Master; All Existing One. Tears began to flow as I read the poem;o dr and over, reflecting and meditating on the words of the poem, realizing that, I am no longer fragile to the master touch, passed the stage of being delicate; finally, an exquisite jar of clay, joyfully and willingly obey the Master will.
