In Mama's hands, I always found everything I needed as a small child. It has been my intent to write a poem in honor of my Mom ever since she died in January 2008.Because my father died two months before I was born, my Mother,Mama,as I called her, was the only loving parent I knew.
This poem is dedicated to her,and to all of the loving moms around the world.

Mama's Hands

Mama's hands rocked me to sleep;

They'd hold me when I'd weep.

Their soft caress relieved all my fears and doubts.

They left no questions about her love for me.

Her strong gentle hands kept my fears at bay,

And as I grew, they were never too far away.

To protect , or comfort me .

Hands, soft, slender, strong, were my security

From life's storms,

And they always had something good

Tucked inside of them

To satisfy all of my childish whims.

Hands filled with love, hope, and peace,

Mama's hands were such a delight for me.

I will always remember Mama's loving hands.

A caring hand is the extension of a pure heart. Very well written, Barbara. Takes me back, home.

An excellent tribute to your mom, Barbara. I have always believed love to be best communicated through the works of the gentle hand.

Reminds me of an old song somewhere about being safe in mama's hands. And so glad you had her and she had a daughter like you to look after her as she grew older.

Hi Barbara Ilike the poem but they'd and I'D I would replace with they held me when I wept. I'm not a writer and I may be wrong but that sounds better to me . I hpoe you get this review I've written it three times.

This poem brought tears to my eyes when I read this. It makes me think of my mom who passed away in 2010. This is such a beautiful poem.
