Looking For God
Seem to have misplaced God;
Where might He be hiding?
Everywhere and yet nowhere;
In all things and still no-thing;
Funny how He pops up,
Now and then,
Sometimes expected,
And sometimes not;
Subtly in the fall colors,
More loudly in song,
Somewhere in between,
Wine and reefer,
Waterfalls and beaches,
And moments of joy,
Like seeing birth,
Or the dreaded death,
Of your only true love;
Lots of tears and laughter,
Big losses and little gains,
But never really misplaced,
Just slightly misperceived.
