A Misty Day
The morning loomed dull
Cloudy and wet
My mind was racing
I was so upset
It wasnt raining just yet
No more than a mist
The road slippery
The air cool
All I could see
Were puddles on the ground at school
No, no rain just yet
No more than a mist
The forecast gloomy
For the next day or two
We need it badly
To live its a must
But no rain just yet
No more than a mist
The sound of tyres
The screech of brakes
As the trucks slide
Any which way
But no rain just yet
No more than a mist
Then thunder came
And lightning flashed
Loud and booming
Like the fear in my heart
Yet still no rain just yet
No more than a mist
When suddenly
It came down
My heart was ready to burst
No more pain
This broke the chain
Gone, was the infernal mist
