Although everyone's experience of Christmas is different, this is mine.

The crisp chill in the morning air and the icicles on the trees
Make the magical morning of Christmas even more delightful.
Those who celebrate the birth of Christ with gifts fit to appease
Even the most hard hearted ones who find the day quite spiteful.

With treasures wrapped in paper and a banquet fit for kings,
The carols of God’s blessings fill the ears and warm the hearts.
Sights of little ones smiles at an old elf, as laughter sings;
Riches revealed makes all eyes sparkle when the giving starts.

Mounds of torn paper, bows, and strings of ribbon flung about.
Shiny new toys held tight in the arms of a smiling child.
When belated members are welcomed with a Christmas shout.
Then blessings said and dishes flow to and fro like wild.

The satisfied look of all who stop to take it in;
The result of Christmas waking the small child within.
