The Splitting of Two

Vowing to be with you until the end,
Watching, now, as you slowly slip away.
My tears and prayers are all that I can send.
Love, packed inside, has never gone astray.

Your soft eyes opened to your last full view
As my heart breaks open, your breathing stops.
A sight full of love is your iris hue
A soul divided, the remainder drops.

What comfort is there for one so alone?
No living chance for a soul to sublime.
Pain penetrates all the way to the bone.
The clock ticks away at the living’s time.

Hurry your heart into the memories
Sights as abrasive as the emery’s.

Mary, it is never easy when we lose someone. This is a very nice tribute to whomever you were talking about. Thanx for sharing.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

I've often wondered if poets feel the pain of loss differently than others do. Mary, the place you were when you wrote this touched me deeper than the poem itself. Your rivers run deep!
