I've made sleep into an art form
I can sleep most anywhere,
on a table, on a rooftop,
on your favorite easy chair...
I can sleep upon my tummy,
on my backside, with some drool,
I sleep like there's no tomorrow,
guess I'm just a sleepin' fool!
If you do not want attention
when we're sitting in a crowd,
you may have to nudge me gently
if my snoring gets too loud,
If I snort or make commotion
or my hind legs start to race,
you have my express permission:
whap me 3 times in the face!
I won't mind it, I'm a good dog,
I won't bark or carry on,
I can play dead as a doorknob
with my face stuck in a yawn,
So please take me when you travel,
take me everywhere you go,
'cause I won't be any bother,
my two speeds are Stop and Slow.
I will splay out like a bean bag,
I'm your guard dog, yesiree!
forget Rin Tin Tin and Lassie,
SuperDog, you bet, that's me!
In their dreams they cannot touch me,
I'm all that, and even more,
I'm your Dream Dog, I'm your hero,
lay me out and watch me snore!

Connie, now, that's one incredible picture! Made me smile! The poem was delightful, too...getting inside the dog's head was neat!

A marvelous ode to our extremely loyal, and often humorous, canine pals, Connie, a marvelous picture, and I've always loved that Groucho quote.
