the picture is of my great grand daughter age 5 months.

Betrayal

I fed your mind with the comedies and dramas of the great writers and poets

I fed your spirit with the thoughts and writings of the great theologians

I fed your ears with the symphonies and ballads of the great composers

And I fed your taste with the great menus of the world’s table

I gave you everything to make your life full of wonder

In return for all my gifts to you

You paid me back by getting old

Causing me pain

And creeping towards death

Such is the way of life,

Just when we become most interesting

Our bodies betray us.

I can surely relate to this well written poem. I was wondering where you were going with the betrayal theme. You said it well Bobbi, we all know how this feels.
Much peace, love, and light,

So true, and I think God compensates for that betrayal by giving us our grandchildren to keep us young in our hearts at least.

Some bodies betray us faster than others do. It's all in how we respect them growing up. Personally my bodies about ready to put a hurting on me LOL. Enjoyed the pen.
