Love's Long Slow Burn

She felt the yearning -- the bittersweet aching
The gnawing sensation -- the quivering of wanting

Love's hunger throbbed deep within her belly
An impassioned rhythm that tormented her daily

Long she waited for her husband's return
Feverishly she nursed love's long slow burn

Finally -- her phantom soldier returned to flesh
Torridly embracing -- they danced flesh to flesh

Ecstatically -- they clung together in glorious celebration
Enraptured -- they clung together in blissful communication

beautifully stated Gwen -- this is the most exquisite dance in life -- romance's ploy seeking passion's joy -- "dancing flesh to flesh" -- joy, peace, and much love to you my friend -- JMW

Distance does make the heart grow fonder.
Or is there more to this dream "phantom soldier" then meets the eye?
Well done indeed...
