A poem about what's left behind.

O give me a stone to mark my place
That's weathered, raw and shows its time
Not smoothly buffed or rubbed to shine
But beaten, chipped and all worn down
For life for me held raging winds
emotions rife with birth and brine
And in the end, when I'm o'ergrown
The rock should praise this life of mine.
