Staring through the looking glass

What has become of us, alas

Silly nuzzles, warm embrace

Now just tears upon my face

Oh wicked glass deny my pain

The agony I cannot feign

For lost in seasons gone before

The fading light, a closing door

My heart dissolves in cloaked despair

I wonder when, I wonder where

Will reflections lead into the night

To guide the soul away from light

And pay the price for love’s trespass

For staring through the looking glass

This one reminds me of Lewis Carrol's "Alice through the looking glass" but with and added quality, the serene sadness and the shy tears. That glass should be a smoked one, to hide the sorrow. Well done my friend. Georg
