I Am Only a Teenager

Having taught middle school for 15 years, I have seen first hand what teen-age boys go through. Some of them engage in very risky situations, not because they want to but because their brain is not fully developed. More often than not with the support of family and friends and lots of love , these boys turn out to be responsible citizens. I have two boys , this picture is of my eldest. He is a very responsible and loving young man. I am very proud of him. He recently got a two year degree in theater and dance.

I am supposed to be defiant
my swagger
must not
cause you to abhor
everything about me
therefore
I ask you, don't let my creepy
ways deter you from loving
who I am on the inside
I am hoping
you will remain by my side
until I am able
to stand on my own
I am grateful
you have not disown me
for I am only a teenager!
