TRUE BEAUTY

Thinking fond thoughts about my daughter. She is very beautiful inside and out. I am very proud of her. During lunch today, I got inspired to write this poem. Here is another favorite picture of my belle Michθle.

Genuine beauty comes from within
herein
let it be known the world over
the man, woman in the mirror
cannot be perfected
for true beauty is deep routed
in character only
many
are fooled and fall prey
much to my dismay
I speak from experience
I too, foolish and young gave too much credence
I have since learned
to not allow myself to be concerned
with outer appearance
for the true essence
of a man, woman
can
only be measured
by a compassionate, loving heart centered
on giving and finding ways
to love unconditionally and to always
treat others with dignity
that to me is true beauty!

| What you say is true, Nicole. The beauty of a young woman does not always relate to beauty inside, I have sadly found that out over my many years on this earth. However, when a young woman is as beautiful as this young lady is, and has a radiant beauty glowing inside, it just does not get any better than that. |
