In America a special day has been set aside when we remember that our forefathers gave thanks to God for sustaining many of them through very hard times. The Pilgrim's thanksgiving was not because of over flowing material whealth, but because they were grateful for whatever Almighty God had provided for them. It is of course quite true , that one shouldn't wait for a 'special' day to thank God...we should thank Him every day, however, it is good to know that hearts...north, south, east and west, are knitted on this this day, as we take the time to give special thanks to our God for His marvelous and bountiful provisions in our lives. There is a wonderful satisfaction on this day in being a part of a vast, unknown amount of fellow thanks-givers.

D on't you dare forget the desserts...

I ndeed... they're so important!

N ot to mention the rolls...

N eeded to make them is short'n

E asy on the seasoning and the spices...

R emember...we're watching our weight!

O n this special day, though...

N eedless to say...none will hesitate

T o pile their plates as high as they please

H elpings in fact, may be two or three

A nd depending on the taste...

N 'er you ask....I'll take some home with me

in folks and friends...talking and  agreeing

S avoring the moments well...

oodness knows when we'll meet like this again

I nvites are not too often...do tell.

V isions of how it was growing up

mpart glad feelings to our soul

N ever to be forgotten are the warm embraces

G atherings like these makes good memories...when the young turn old.

D inner at last is ready... we're called to slurp and clank

A s we congregate...heads bow....we give the 'true ' provider His rank

Y ou and you alone O God deserve our praises...all our heartfelt thanks!

Ps 136:26

This has a real feast-feel and the atmosphere is wonderfully celebratory with such a lightness and embracing spirit. I love the build and the way you gather all to stop and remember round the table. A very focal point in time, thoughts and place. Indeed, memories are made of this and so important to know where we have come from, where we are and ultimately on who/what we depend. Have a most wonderful Thanksgiving, Joyce. You truly know the spirit of it. xx
