My Dear Church Brethern...I beg you to try and understand; 'Idols' come in many shapes and forms, but they are all self-made...or...manufactured. I only 'fear' (respect) and serve 'One' God...'He' is the 'Only' God that I bow to. You see...I have read and heard of many instances where 'trust' was misplaced and entirely thrust aside to satisfy 'self'. For instance, just recently...; 'two young men shared a dorm room. One of which, probably both...bowed(gave their trust to one another)yet, one rose during the night and litterally, cannibalistically 'ate' the other. And there are a host of other instances(today and as long ago as biblical times) in government, business or personal relationships (some more grotesque, some less) where the idea of entirely trusting another turns out to be a 'game played' for momentary satisfaction(sometimes gross deceit)... and nothing more. I trust the 'One' who has never failed me and has power not only over the flesh but over the spirit also. He will guide me and He will one day Judge me. I am reminded of the old hymn which says, "...the arms of flesh will fail you...you dare not trust your own..." So, I do not trust your 'arms' and, for that matter, I do not even trust my own. I trust Jesus because I 'fear' Him(respect His 'authority' in my life)and I am His and He is mine. For, I know if I follow Jesus...though I may stumble, '...He who has begun a good and perfect work in me...is able to complete it...' and guide me safely to my Eternal Home. There are some things of which I am sure I will never desert in this world; my God, my children, my promises and my country. I seek not to 'mold' anyone else into making the choice that I have made...even my offsprings. They make their own alligences and I do not judge them. I respect their decisions and their God-given 'right', as free human beings, to 'choose' their own paths.
Thus, it is my hope and my prayer that I have explained myself well and that you realize the reason for my 'silence' when we meet weekly. Freedom of Speech(in any form)...it is truly a Blessing...is it not?
So, my dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, let me say this...
|
I am well aware of how 'all'
of you...truly feel towards me
...for I 'dare' to go against the 'norm'
However, I am not the first...and 'He'
that went before...warned those that
followed Him...of these days
Thus...within it all
I see you through
The Glorious Power of Almighty God
and...I Love You all with much...Agape Love
but...
I Don't Fear...or Trust...You

This is a bold, powerful and beautifully written poem,Joyce, that gives its reader some of the same courage found in it.
Just saying the title: I don't Fear You, gives the speaker courage, faith.
Keep them coming; I look forward to reading your wonderful and encouraging work.
Continued success~

I appreciate this read, our Pastor was giving metion to explaining
idols a few weeks ago, and too this show I watch about our
ancestral history is also very facinating.
We have come a very long way from those
darken times and the fear too
