My Melisa

My first granddaughter, a total joy for me!

curious eyes question and penetrate
my soul as you search for wisdom,
bright sparks of hope glitter in your
smile and shine as a beacon,
your heart fills the room with love and warmth,
your laughter brightens even the saddest of hearts.
precocious as a flirty imp,
innocent as a cherub in heaven,
you are the essence of what is good in me
and the center of my love,
my first grandchild, you are, and yet at times
you have the look of a wise older matron,
what shall I learn from you today?
my friend, my love, my precious little darling.
how blessed am I to know you and to
have you in my life.
