IF I KNEW YOU AND YOU KNEW ME

What a difference it makes when you know and love another
person, after knowing and loving yourself.

 

If I knew you and you really knew me
Each of us could see more clearly the heart
And I am sure we would say no to all
things that divide and every partition.

(Bridge) 
If I loved you and you loved me
Each of us would have compassion
And beauty would surround us.
We'll be best friends and true lovers.
(Sing the first stanza again)

(Sing to the tune of "Now is the Hour.")
