EXPERT VICTIMIZATION

Everything you always wanted to know about experts but were afraid to ask.
Now, you can know what you have a right to know about experts.

Expert comes from a combination of two Latin words "ex" meaning a has been - in modern language an unknown quantity - and "spurt," meaning a drip under pressure. Or "pert " the true last syllable of expert, meaning flippantly corky The aforementioned is a  bit contrary to the common meaning of an expert which refers to a person who has special skill or knowledge in some particular field; specialty; authority.

Many people who have fallen victims to expert advice would not have done so had they heeded the former rather than the latter meaning of expert.

Today, experts advise people in nearly every area of their lives: health, financial investment, fashion, entertainment, sports, education, security and on and on goes the list. The consequences are dire. After following the advice of experts many people who were in relatively good health, became sicker, debilitated or saw their demise accelerated. People who had stable and secure finances fell prey to fraudulent practices in housing, banking and investment markets that depleted their finances and for some moved them from being debt-free to being in debt.

Beware! whenever you encounter or collaborate with experts let your first consideration be honest skepticism. Honest doubt is the path to discovery of the validity or lack thereof of what is presented to you. Doubt with confidence as you face the unknown and the drip under pressure, offering of flippantly corky experts. Faith in yourself helps.

Go gusty. Trust your feelings. They are the most reliable indicators you have for determining what is right for you. Follow your heart which frequently opposes expert advice, especally advice you did not seek. Among the victims of experts are experts themselves who follow the advice of other experts. You would think they know better, but gamblers bet on winining even while and after losing.

Because expert providers are propelled by greed, how much money they can extract from their clients who are very often their patients (rather than clients), they may lure people by offering them discounts for using their service.

Think about "ex" a has been, an unknown quantity and "spurt" as a drip under pressure and "pert" as flippantly corky. Will the unknown become known too late? Will it  be the drip under pressure that gushed into a flood that overwhelmed you, the expert's victim? Will you ably resist the magic of the flippantly corky expert?
