Sometimes I just drive around.
I drive against the blowing wind
And turn the music very loud,
By letting the windows down,
I let the single notes escape, go out
And find their freedom in the clouds.
I take my hands off the wheel
And let the conductor within me come out.
When you are holding me around my waist,
I feel confident,
My car and I are circling around,
Listening to Chopin and Strauss:
The waltz is spinning in my head and I fly in the clouds,
No ice, but I’m skating, changing lanes
And taking my car into Escapades.
Being held by you in my everyday seat, I feel safe,
I drive up and down the streets, very proud,
Suddenly I am an International singer,
I become romantic, French, and dreaming about …
I become an Italian, passionate,
My heart is singing “Solo Tou…”
But when the rain gently knocks on the roof
And tries to clean my windshield,
The sadness sneaks in from the window…
I push the pedal to the limit; I try to become a pilot
And fly my car into the clouds,
Again, I turn the music loud hoping no one is near,
No one can hear my weeping sound,
Hoping you can understand and support me,
Hoping you can wipe away my silent tears.
Only you can take me to seventh heaven…
Then…
I close my eyes and let go of my fears.
Behind me I feel your white wings holding the wheel,
I know you are always with me;
You will never let me down.
