The Spirit of Music

The music is my main inspiration and I bow before great musicians and their work.

Out of nowhere, suddenly,
The sound of music rained on me,
Washed away the dust that covered me.

Approaching like a wave with a powerful roar,
It swiftly crashed against my shores,
Gently caressed the defenseless walls
Of my lonely soul.

Each note trapped inside a piano,
Rolled like a marble ball,
Falling on a glass,
One-by-one they joined the gala of
Dancing Iguaçu Waterfall.

Something collapsed in me and opened a door…
It seemed like the breeze was the master of chime-bells
And along with the Angels,
Conducted the orchestra hidden in my cells…

The breathtaking tune of sweet violins
Stretched from the Earth to Heaven,
Penetrated into my heart and rushed through my veins.

As a single note, I’ve merged into the whirlwind
And lifted through the air,
Through the musical stairs, I got closer to her,
Aphrodite’s chair.

Like a river, her passion was flowing everywhere,
The music was the witness and carrier
Of her love into our life’s affairs.

There is more to this life and more behind the door,
More than our minds can comprehend and absorb,
And the spirit of the music was one of the keys
That opened the door.

I get lost in classical music too... just now writing a study about it. But this goes beyond getting lost in it-- it's you becoming one with it--adding your tone to the symphony. --Charlie

Music has always been a miracle to me, but never more than this year.
With the passing of my father in January I am now without parents, but both were very accomplished at the piano. I actually discovered reel to reel tapes tucked away- and from them I now have 6 full length CDs of piano and organ works of my parents. I play them over the sound system at work and all people know is that Chopin was the master. I know even more.
I will never lose my parents. Music does this.
Listen well, it is all there.

Very masterfully done. This is such a wonderful piece that makes us readers all stop and pause for if we look back on our lifes...haven't we all songs and music that marked almost every milestone?

A sad thought accompanied by a ballade will make you cry; the notice of a new born as you hear a evergreen will fill your heart with joy...yes, music is the key so you can open the door and enter a better room.

I love that wild, spontaneous rush of imagery, full of surprises.

Ankin,
Great music does have this effect, the power to nourish and raise us up; when I listen to a Mozart sonata I hear him speak to me, a monologue that quickly becomes a dialogue.
