Again a piece of free verse. The subject is an often misunderstood joy of human relationships.
|
Callipygian Gifts
One of
The simple joys
Of life
Is walking
Behind
A woman whether
A stranger
Or one’s wife
Admiring
The delightful
Play, the
Metronomic
Sonata of her backside’s
Alluring sway.
There is more to this joy, I must confide,
Each woman walks to a beat of her own,
Slow and languid, like an incoming tide
Or in saucy, sciolto rhapsody,
Thus no two rhythms are ever the same…
(Men’s breath can be stilled by their melody!)
And as equally enchanting,
Women can change the melody
To match the mood of their thinking
And purpose, knowing, wickedly,
Each rhythm’s ultimate effect,
Shifting from demure to coquette,
And back again as she desires,
Igniting with an ancient fire,
All males within proximity.
Now, some will say this subject is vulgar,
Citing out-of-context scripture,
But a woman’s callipygian gifts
And the gift of sight comes from the same source,
Beauty to be seen, something to see with.
So, I thank God for the gift of vision
And the creation of women
And their posterior compositions!

It could only be vulgar if you made vulgar remarks and that I have not read within your words but a compliment. Thank you.

So this is why woman no longer has to walk behind man, huh? lol. I think this poem pays tribute to a woman's curves in a respectful and beautiful way. Indeed, your words make every shift of the hips seem intoxicating.
