Penned Marriage

Pen
searches for my hand,
plaintive, insistent, persuasive.
Hum-voiced, it whispers
its sibilant pleas,
promises loyalty, explaining the mating,
speaks of multiple births,
unending fertility
and precipitous ecstasies.

I
reach for my Pen,
exhilarated, anxious, absorbed.
Vibrating my need, I whisper
my tremulous pleas,
promise devotion, seeking wedlock,
reveal willing productivity,
eternitied fecundity
and perpendicular rhapsody.

Pen
reaches for my Hand.

Great poem. The writer's hand and the writer's pen can serve to consummate a marriage made in heaven.

You know that I so enjoy your work and spirit!
But I am left wondering, which is in control?
The pen or the hand?
Ever consider a job as a lexicographer?

Keep up the great work,
your pal,
Kevin

Erin, I don't know what to say!!! I avoided reading this for a while because the title brought back a vivid memory for me, but I'm glad I read it, because it wasn't at all what I thought! The "marriage" worked very well here... thank you for sharing this...

"Penned Marriage"... - What is going on in Arizona? Did Erato decide to be a permanent guest in Your residence, Inspired Poet?

"Penned Marriage" is a poem to be recited by Phoebus!

Thank You for allowing us - mortals - to drink this sparkling wine!

Erin, Here I go again, reaching for my dictionary or bringing it up on screen from the internet...damn where do all those words arise from? Another one that I actually understood and identified with, thanks, ED
