Being there is a short look into what makes us genuine human beings.
|
Being There
Being there is not everything
When all there is to being there
Is to be seen.
Being hip is not everything
When all there is to being hip
Is having style.
Being smart is not everything
When all there is to being smart
Is showing off.
Being pretty is not everything
When all there is to being pretty
Is how you look.
Being envied is not everything
When all there is to being envied
Is what you own.
Being genuine is everything.

| This poem has deep meaning. There is so much more to life than what we own, what we brag about, and simply being seen. I believe that being genuine is the key to joy, and the purpose of life. It is our actions and behaviors which matter. What good is it to do things when we have false pretenses, or when we do things simply for our own benefit? Your poem is well written, and sends a powerful message about the importance of being genuine. |
