So times we et off easym while others get it in the neck.

Merry May has been sodden this year,
soaking wet from first to last.
More than enough moisture for seven years
of May flowers, providing that they didn’t
rot in the ground. At least the streams have
kept their banks, and the fire hazard is low.
There is fire and flood from BC to the Rock:
high water and flooding across the Lakes.
But here it has been wet and chill. a fair trade,
perhaps, for the more extreme events around us.
One ought not to take too much pleasure from the
vagaries of weather for the weather that has
so afflicted east and west has been held
in place by our relatively benign, if sodden May.

A WELL DESCRIPT WORK...ONE OF WHICH THOSE HERE IN THE WESTERN AND LOWER SOUTHERN PART OF THE UNITED STATES CAN WELL RELATE TO(DEVASTATING FLOODS AND STORMS). HOWEVER THE 'BLOOMS' OF MAY HAVE FAIRED WELL IN OTHER PARTS. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH... JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS |

Think the weather everywhere has been completely out of control and not sure why so intense. Your words capture it well...
