Another in the saga of my mule-riding alter-ego. There are going to be at least three parts to this one...

THE BOY

There was something about the young man
that reminded me of myself, the cast of
his eyes and set of his chin. The eyes were
not mine but I’d seen those eyes before, deep
full of colour and wild. He was a competent
horseman, despite his designer jeans and shirt.
And he rode a quality silver roan Morgan mare
But the thing that made me startle and
the thing that made me look was the silver
eagle on the headstall. A copy, the only copy
of the one that graced the bridle of my mule.

“Hello, muley man. I’m your son..................”
