One Mere Thread

So take it all away then
Every last shred
Dost thou believe I need
All that burns within?
This life is but a shroud…
Some say
And truth is one mere thread
So take it all away then
Every last shred
I’ll still be standing here or there
In other worldly forms
With Earth cradled in my arms
Reality bruised and torn
Is that what you rely upon?
Reality today?
It tis your own creation
You deny the night his day
Embrace the screen in front of you
Or canvas if you like
Stroke your very simple needs
In shades of black and white
Or take it all away then
Every last shred
Dost thou believe You need
All that burns within?
