One Saviour

For my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Darkness skirts the edge of my path,
it looks cruel and dark and cold.
The devil will never get a piece of me,
it is God who carries my soul.

Darkness never, ever quits trying
to break God's children to his will.
He might as well leave, and not try with me,
for in God, I shall always be still.

One love, one life, one Saviour,
it was Jesus who died for me.
I will not give up on His promise,
this soul was born to be free.

Free 'pon the wings of His angels,
heavenly choir sings in this heart.
I will always keep His light inside,
there's no room for anything dark.

Sing His praises up to heaven,
a gift to God, on His heavenly throne.
When this life is through and my lessons are learned,
it is Jesus who will take me home.
