Can we seek God, in the senses five?
Fulfilling all in each, makes us feel alive.
Taste and see, that the Lord's Word is sweet
His Word on my tongue, was then milk, but now meat.
Any word spoken, either bitter or sweet
Can lift up a man, or undermine his feet.
A touch of the hand, can heal a great hurt
As a strike on the face, can grind a soul into dirt.
Who can duplicate the love, in a mother's kiss?
To a skinned knee, only her touch, is but bliss.
God reaches in, and touchest the innermost man
He alone can duplicate, the love in mother's good hand.
Savor the aroma, while in the presence of God
A fragrant odor, to be worshipped in laud.
Rod and staff in my pain, they comfort me
He is light to my path, allowing me to see.
We were all blind, but how can it be?
That the senses were sharpened at Calvary.
Without Faith, He God, can never be pleased
And only from hearing, will our consciences be eased.
The senses five, were no accident in man
Designed by the Master, part of the plan.
We strive to put these to work, so as to honor You
We give five gifts back, what more can we do?
In eyes, ears, nose, taste, and also touch
You gave us to enjoy You, e'er You love us so much.
So Lord the designer, make our senses be
Honed and sharpened in You, towards eternity.
