Around the World I Decided To Row

.

Around the world I decided
To row
To row
To row
Around the world I decided to row
Across the ocean
I would go
I would go
That is how I would cross the ocean
That is how I would go.

When all of a sudden an old man spoke to me
The old man said
He said
“I have fished the ocean blue
Sailed many a terrifying sea
Come close and listen - listen to me
Around the world you cannot go
Oh no
Oh no
Oh no”

Kind sir you say around the world I cannot go
Oh why kind sir do you say that
Why do you say that?

“Because the world is flat”
How queer is that the world is flat
I did not let the old man hear me say that
Into the ocean I did go I started to row

Drinking his bottle of rum
Mouth full of spaghetti
The old man laughed yelling
You have more chance of finding the Yeti.

The waves were high
The waves were low
For many days I did row
I did row
I did row
For many days I did row
All of a sudden
Oh no
Oh no
Oh no
Over the edge of the world I did go
Over the edge of the world I did go.

“My name is Myrtle
Myrtle the Turtle”
Said a turtle
Holding the world upon his back
With hundreds upon hundreds
Of turtles beneath big Myrtle.

Myrtle was a friendly turtle
Though he did speak rather deep
And rather slow.

To myrtle the turtle I did say
It was jolly kind of you to break my fall
Catching me in your flipper and all

“You are not a very good skipper
But I’ll flip yer back to sea”
Myrtle did whisper

With a splashy de splash I did crash
I did crash
I did crash
With a splashy de splash
I did crash
Back into the sea.

I swimily swamily back to the shore
The old man laughed with the mightiest roar
His mouth still full of spaghetti
Oh sir
Oh sir
Asked I
What is it you said
About a yeti

Funnily done, Andy. But there has to be more.
Perhaps in the next installment you'll find the yeti.

... Phew!! Can feel the labour in all that repetitious rowing, Andy, and yet(i), within it, there is space to ponder each new adventure as it arrives on board... This could run and run... or row and row... Many more fishy tales could unravel from where these came from... xx Frustratingly funny!

You have one of the most vivid and fun imaginations, so rich in humor! This is a charmer.
The yeti is perfect left dangling there at the end.
