When my son had just turned five
On the window a spider alive

Everyday he’d play with
Becky the spider

Jumping with glee
“Becky’s eating her tea
Look
Look
Becky’s moving about”

Amazing for a creature
With eight legs to do that

Staring and staring at Becky all day
Nothing
No
Nothing
Would get in his way

“Look daddy look
Becky’s come to play”

He went to dress
For Halloween

I cleaned the house
With Mr Sheen

Becky would not manoeuvre
Now Becky resides in the hoover

LOL. I hate spiders especially when they wind up inside the car while I'm driving, but kids can see beyond the creepy, eight-legged creature like a Charlotte to Wilbur. Just not me.

Ahh poor Becky, reminds me of when i was little i had a pet wasps, unfortunately they came in the house to die at the end of the summer so they only lasted a couple of weeks. God bless. Baz

Dear me. Poor Becky. Children do learn about creatures by just watching them. Thanks for reading my poem.

Love it! I try to leave most spiders alone figuring they're eating bugs. Maybe there's bugs in a hoover. Patrick

You're a wicked man, Andy, wicked!

(Darn It; John already said that.)

And that being said (twice!), you've now inspired me to resurrect one of my poems from long ago, now entitled: 'Becky's Mum' - Thanks, Old Chum!
