I love life most
In all Earth’s places;
Where mountains drop
Into blue/green seas.
And air is not too warm,
Not too cool, a little dry,
But choked off from the sky.
And where the sun is so hot
Water molecules wish they could
Find a refuge from fried eggs and ham
Sizzling on Dr. Seuss’ blacktop.
And where Mason’s granite monolith’s
Rise up into stratospheric anomalies -
Of people, cars, smells and sounds;
Blending into a melting pot
Of civilized humanity. Or,
Where forests breed, green mossy
Trees, rising like sentinels to the Gods.
I am even impressed, or less,
With heart-broken tears for THEY!
More than anything, make me feel
A mixed blessing of joy to be alive,
And sorrow of the shame that I still am.
Because poverty bleeds God’s selfishness,
Into a devoid of opportunity.
There could have been an alternative
To hardship and death.
If only you, could have been a GOD!
I SUPPOSE...ONE MIGHT DESIRE TO BE MORE THAN WHAT THEY ARE...NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THAT EACH ONE OF US IS ALREADY A PERFECT REPLICA OF THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD WHO MADE US AS HE WANTED US TO BE...BUT...TO BE WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE ONE BE...ONE MUST LEAVE THE REALM OF REALITY AND DWELL IN THE LAND OF MYTHS AND FABLES...YOU THINK? GOOD WRITE. THANKS FOR SHARING AND GOD BLESS YOU.

Don't you hate it when that happens - slammed down to earth by reality. You are a force to be reckoned with, in these lines that captivate - my new favorite of yours, Sara. Well done!
Captivating this poem draws the reader into a world as seen through the poets eyes and they travel a journey of insight surrounded in beauty...well done Sara...
