“The Bible says abortion is wrong!”
This is typically uttered during election time.
The same is said about homosexuality.
People bring the Bible into matters
to condemn the practices
they think are slime.
But doesn’t the Bible condemn fornication?
Why don’t people use it to denounce that practice?
They don’t because they enjoy the pleasure
of having more than one person on their mattress!
If all of the Bible is not going to be used,
then we should leave the book out of our points of discussion.
People will pick a religion if they want to hear it.
They’ll consult a minister
if they want to hear someone preach.
Cults often form from using one part of the Bible.
Their leaders will claim to have received a vision,
which results in persons being misled by their charisma
and thus becoming victims of psychological prisons.
I’m not calling out any names.
Use your mind to recognize frauds for yourselves.
Nobody can make you see what you don’t want to see.
Your free will belongs to you and you only.
But let’s quit quoting what the Bible says
if we know we don’t want to use all of it.
Doing so is selfish,
especially if we know good and well
that our lives are not in harmony
with what it really teaches.
