This is how I felt after someone I chose to open my life to left me.

Tell me again the things you said
would never come to be.
Tell me how much love you feel inside
and how you could never leave.
Tell me the times I crossed your mind
and how you could think of nothing else.
Now tell me how you could walk away
and not expect me to feel the way I felt.

For years I kept my heart locked away
from everyone surrounding me
Until that day you took my hand in yours
and I felt all that love could be.
In that simple motion you swept me away
into a state of peace and serenity.
The walls around my heart fell to your touch
and I wanted my soul to be yours for eternity.

Unfortunately life happened again
and your world came crashing down.
I was so helpless and you were so confused
so you ran away, hoping not to be found.
You came back and confessed your love
one last time for my love kept haunting your thoughts,
But one morning I woke to find you gone again
and now I am completely lost.
