(Triumphant Rebound - A poem of Villanelle structure)

Triumphant Rebound

He would never have accepted defeat,
Victory being his certitude we pray;
Triumphant rebound He did complete.

The woman knew As she washed His feet,
That to save her soul He was The Way;
He would never have accepted defeat,

Paul believed while walking the street,
That The Way was The Truth - it was clear as day,
Triumphant rebound He did complete.

He awoke Lazarus with a miraculous feat,
For He's the resurrection and The Life we say ;
He would never have accepted defeat,

He is the way, the truth, the life with no conceit,
He who rose Lazarus later to die himself - a ghastly display;
Triumphant rebound He did complete.

He died one day to arise in three with many later to greet,
Many saw him and worshiped, as on the first Christmas day;
He would never have accepted defeat,
Triumphant rebound He did complete.
