Am bushed

Am bushed
dense trees prominade
in the glade
rifles in their branches,
snickered,
horror penetrated.

Peeled bark
another tree vamoosed
forests fade
trailing dry burnt cinders,
sneaked
in fertile fields to roost.

Am bushed
by branches intertwined
they do-si-doe
their heads a bit breezy,
gnarled,
thinking humans unkind

Trunks packed
leaving leaves on their own
none will phone home
Trees will fight to survive--
rebels--
but can't fight all alone.

Am bushed
but please leave forests alone
don't masquerade
the fact that they're dying
Save them
or their deaths we condone.

Wonderfully insightful (inciteful?) write. Mayhap I read more into the "am bushed" than was intended? Should the B be a capitol letter? The man has done such wonders for our natural world, no? Really nice work.
