LAURA...THANK YOU FOR SHARING. I KNOW THIS WAS NOT EASY FOR YOU TO DO BUT YOU DID IT TO HELP OTHERS. I PRAY THAT THE PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS THAT ACT AS A REMINDER OF WHAT YOU ENDURED WILL BE TOTALLY HEALED...NOT WORSEN...AND I PRAY...THAT YOUR MIND AND SPIRIT ARE HEALED AS WELL. YOU PRAY FOR THIS TOO, LAURA(3 JHN 2). MAY GOD CONTINUOUSLY BLESS YOU WITH LOVE, BLESSINGS & A DEEP FAITH...

| Thank you for sharing this poem, I know that it will be a help to many out there in a similar situation and I do pray that it may give someone the strength to remove themselves from a violent situation sooner rather than later. I can relate to your walking difficulties as I have had damage to the spinal cord in my neck but thankfully not caused by abuse. Am thinking of you. God bless. Baz |

| Would that this would be the last of these kind of posts, but I know there will be more. I can only hope others will read this and walk away before they are injured to the extent you are. |

Since joining Authors Den about four years ago, I have met and befriended many people, such as you, Laura, that "live lives of quiet desperation" that makes me both sad for the horrible things that have occurred in other's lives and thankful for my life because, in comparison to so many that I Know, other than the problems that I have caused myself, I have absolutely no complaints.
So sorry for the pain caused you by another human being.
Your friend, Mark |

An intimate and brave reflection, Laura.
You have insight to help so many, as you have emerged from your own suffering with wisdom and hope. Yet knowing that there has been damage done to you is just heartbreaking as your friend/reader.
Your writing and telling your story will certainly help with awareness.
Blessings,
Christine |
