| Gene, another poem I have somehow missed. This work of yours overwhelms me with pride and deep appreciation. Pride in the United States of America. Deep appreciation for every uniformed man and woman that has ever stood in harms way or supported those that stood in harms to preserve our republic. I can vividly see men and women with chests swollen with pride marching in Independence Day parades across the nation, generation after generation. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. | Very powerful in depth and effect, Gene. This moves me to compassion, deep respect and honor for all those veterans, including my own father and grandfather and you. |

Amen to that! My son-in-law is not an aged vet but a fairly young one who will rely on his cane and pride as the parade goes by... well done!
